Charging our own batteries

I’ll be honest, this isn’t something I’m too good at so this post is more “I have a dream” than reality!  We all understand at some level that we are not unlimited, that at some point we all need to refuel, and that our systems require different types of fuel: air, sleep, food (and all its subcategories) etc.  Every so often I go a few steps too far and find myself forced to stop and recharge.

I dream of a life where I am recharge before my body forces me to.  I dream of a life where I exercise consistently. I dream of a life where I spread out entertainment so I am neither binging or starving.  I dream of a life where my food feeds and nourishes me, neither too much nor too little.  I dream of a life where I hear the birds everyday. I dream of a life where my brain works not in fits and spurts.  I dream of a life where I engage others, socializing enough to maintain connections but not so much I become a gossip.

I thank God that today I am closer than I was a year ago, I thank God for teaching me to hope that next year I will be closer than today.
